Review: HK Hair - Dirty Looks Hair Extensions!

Hey everyone!

So I'm back to do a review of my NEW Dirty Looks HK hair extensions! I purchased them online from the Dirty Looks website http://dirtylooks.us/  and all I have to say is I LOVE THEM!

I have purchased hair extensions and wigs in the past, but these are by far my favorite! Here is the link to the exact one's I purchased: http://dirtylooks.us/full-head-hair-extensions
I purchased the 150grams 12-14" hair extensions in the color "Spiced Auburn"
They don't match perfectly, but that is because I dye my hair to match them, and it's hard to get an exact match. Also, red hair dye fades super quick, and that sucks. BUT, you can't tell! They blend in so well with my hair its unbelievable! I have worn them straight, but I've been wearing them wavy. I have used heat on them, but what I like to do is dampen them with a spray in leave-in conditioner, braid them loosely, then leave them overnight. When I put them into my already wavy hair, they look just like my hair did when it was long!

As far as wefts, you get a lot of them! It is definitely a lot of hair, and if you have thick hair I would recommend them, because I don't have a problem blending them in, or not having enough hair to work with. For wefts you get a 3 clip weft that is actually 3 wefts of hair sewn together, so it's the thickest of the bunch. This makes it excellent for blending into your natural hair. Then you get 2 more regular 3 clip wefts, 5, 2clip wefts, and 2, 1clip wefts. For me, I use all the wefts, even though I don't really need to. I just love the full look! The clips are comfortable and have a rubber backing so they stay put in your hair. :) As far as shedding, I haven't had hardly any at all. When they first came to me, a few pieces of hair fell out, but other than that they have not shed at all, unless I pull on them hard, then a hair or two might come out.

Any complaints?
I do have one. After about 2 uses, one of the clips broke. I had to sew on another clip that I had already had from other extensions, but I'm okay with that. It does irk me a tiny bit, just because I paid so much money for them, and I didn't expect a clip to break that easily, with no extra force used. BUT, I had extra clips, so I just swapped out the broken one with a new one and they are fine now.

Overall, I HIGHLY recommend Dirty Looks extensions! Altogether with tax and what not, mine came to be around $180, but I'm not quoting that, but I think that was about right.
So if you're looking for high quality, thick, human hair extensions, check them out! They took a week to get to me, which isn't bad at all!

So I hope this helps! and here are some before and after pictures!

  1. Your hair is a lovely colour, I am thinking of getting these spiced auburn colour extensions, what colour do you use to dye your hair, I have a clairol perfect 10 in light auburn 6R but I am not sure its gonna be the right colour?

  2. Thank you! I have naturally red hair, but at the time I was using a medium auburn from Revlon Colorsilk. My hair came out just a tad bit darker, but you couldn't tell. I wouldn't use a dark auburn, but a light auburn might work well if you have light hair already. I would say try the light auburn, if it's too light, then go with a medium. But at the same time, red fades super fast, so a medium might be a better choice, because if it does come out darker than you'd like, it will fade. I also don't think that a slight color difference in reds will matter if your natural hair is a bit longer, at least shoulder length. Mine is chin length, so it's easier to catch the color difference. Sorry for writing a book! haha Just wanted to give you my tips! :)
