Hey everyone!
So this is going to be a short, to the point post...but I wanted to share with you that after going from black to red, I decided to go even lighter and highlight my hair. I know it was soon after but oh well, that's what I do. lol
How did I do it though? One simple easy process and that is by using the Revlon Frost and Glow highlighting kit for medium to dark brown hair.
This is what the box looks like:
You can find it at drugstores, Wal-Mart, etc. I got mine at Wal-Mart.
Anyway...I just used this kit according to the directions, left it on max time, and ended up with golden blonde highlights! I plan on using a different kind of bleach and a 20 vol. developer in a month or so to go even blonder, just do some more highlights, so I'll post if and when I do that. But here are some before and after pics :)

I found your blog from google with how to go blonde from red. My hair is almost the same color as the above red picture. Instead of using all of the 5 boxes you did in a YouTube tutorial could I try this?
ReplyDeleteI'd say it should work, it should at least get you to a strawberry blonde color, then later on after conditioning a lot you could re-use the same kit (which I've done before) or you could get bleach and a lower developer (I recommend a bleach powder and 30vol. developer since 40vol. is really damaging)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, everyone's hair is different, and I'm no professional, but I've used this Revlon highlighting kit many times to go blonder and its worked every time! Just make sure you leave it on long enough, bc while developing, the bleach looks lighter than it is when you rinse it out! And I also shampoo with shimmer lights purple shampoo after rinsing, then condition to brighten the blonde and eliminate brassy tones!
