Okay so, I just dyed my hair again, I'll tell you what I used, my experience, etc.
I went to Sally's because I wanted a demi-permanent dye that was a little brighter than my natural color (the one I currently had) just so I could boost my color, not really change it. They didn't have any demi's that were the color I wanted but they had a color in the permanent line that matched my current haircolor so closely. I decided to get that color, the box was dusty, but I didn't think anything of it.
To make a long story short, the color did not come out as expected, and I think the box of dye was old because the color was way off from what it should have been, it was clumpy, and after I mixed it with the developer that it told me to, it was so thick that I couldnt even work it through my hair. But I made it work, left it on, rinsed and was disappointed. The color I got was Medium Copper Blonde. The color that I have, is more of a reddish brown. ick.
I have used copper blonde colors before and they all came out more orangy and what not, this color came out brown-ish. There isn't a HUGE difference in my hair color but it wasnt what I wanted. Its not to say that all Sally's Ion permanent dyes are old and turn out this way, but definitely be cautious and ask about the last shipment that came in! geez! theres no way that if it had been new the color would have came out like this, not with the color swatch I was looking at.
So here is a before and after picture. I wont be getting this dye again, Im afraid to go to Sally's now haha especially ours since it doesnt get a lot of business. But I will probably either keep this hair color since I kind of like it, and just use a different dye, or use something bright next time. Im not sure.
