Sleek Haul! (my first purchase from Sleek Makeup)

Hey everyone! So I made an online purchase from Sleek on the 16th, and it arrived today (the 31st). It took 2 weeks to get here and I was DYING! it felt like an eternity! But it came in the mail and I decided to do some swatches =) So I hope you enjoy!!!

BACK TO RED! How I got rid of my black hair!

Hey everyone!


So I no longer have black hair, and after being several medium/dark shades for a while I decided it was time to return to my natural hair color. I LOVED my black hair, but it was slowly becoming a hassle due to me having to dye my roots every 3-4 weeks. Also, I want to grow out my hair and I knew that if I wanted to grow it out, I would have to get my hair healthy, and dying it all the time wouldn't help that situation. So, I conquered getting the black out of my hair, and my hair back to my natural color (well close), and this is how I did it:


1. I first had to bleach out the black hair dye that was in my hair. (note: I had only been using black hair dye for about 3 months, some semi-permanent, so it wasn't built up in my hair over years or anything, which helped with the removal process. the longer black permanent dye has been in your hair, meaning you've dyed black over black over black, the harder it is going to be to get out).


2. I did so by bleaching out the black using Clairol Born Blonde Maxi from the drugstore. I bought 2 boxes to ensure I had enough to cover my hair, put it on, and left it on for up to 90 min. as listed on the box. My hair was a neon orange, which is what I wanted it.

3. After the first bleaching, I still had dark splotches around my root area from where the bleach didn't take. So I had to go back over with another box of bleach (same kind) and just put it on the dark ares, left it on for about 40 min. this time. 


4. Between each bleaching, and even before I made sure to DEEP condition! I used Dove Intense Repair conditioner. 

5. After my 2nd bleaching I was ready to dye over it. I used Revlon Colorsilk dye (2 boxes), number 56- which is one of their newest shades. The name itself I don't remember, but it was along the lines of "natural auburn" or something like that. I tried finding a picture of the box but couldn't. 




After all of this my hair turned out the color I wanted it. It has since faded a bit, but I plan on doing a semi-permanent over it in a couple of months. But for now I am going to focus on repairing it. This process did of course dry out my hair majorly, but with conditioners and serums I am getting it hydrated again. It didn't break off my hair at all, and I thank that to the kind of bleach I used. The Clairol bleach is by far the most gentle bleach I've used from the drugstore, so I recommend using it for lifting color and dying over.

WHY I have been gone SOOOO long! Plus wedding update!

Oh my goodness, you all probably think I am terrible :x I'm so sorry for being gone for so long, but I will tell you why I have been.


I was planning for my wedding, and was so super busy with that plus school that I had no time to film. THEN I GOT MARRIED!!!!! I got married Dec. 17th :) And then we went on our week long honeymoon, got back, then it was Christmas. 
Right after Christmas though some personal problems happened, along with my mom going into the hospital for a serious health condition. =/ She's still recovering and has to have surgery in 2 weeks, so I won't be making videos for a while longer, or posting much. I am going to try very soon to make a video but I am also dealing with finals right now as well. yuck. 


But here are some pictures from my wedding and from the honeymoon :) I really hope to be back soon on my blog and on Youtube once things calm down and get back to normal!

Long awaited post!

Oh my goodness! I have so much to update on! yikes! I just keep forgetting to sign into my blog and keep it update. With school, family and friends, wedding planning, my youtube channel which is branching off into a vlog channel as well, I just get so lost!

BUT, I am back with some exciting news that I think you will like! I dyed my hair...AGAIN! haha

It is now a medium brown shade! I used Clariol Perfect 10 Haircolor in Medium Ash Blonde (swift chocolate) and I am loving it :)

But that's all for now! I'm waiting for some things to arrive in the mail so I should be doing some giant makeup hauls on my channel very very soon! Okay so I lied...but here's FINALLY, an OOTD! Floral Flowy Fall Top!

I lied about updating my blog more than my Youtube channel but I guess I misjudged my priorities. lol I figured it would be easier for me to make blog posts, but really, my blog posts are made off of my videos, so in all reality I'm more likely to post a video before doing a blog post.

This outfit is very casual yet cute and sophisticated, great for the beginning of fall when you're not sure if it's going to be warm or chilly!


What I wore:
-Flowy 3 quarter sleeve silk floral top, off the shoulder. -Walmart
-A pair of skinny jeans with a dark wash with brown undertones to match my accessories. Cuffed at the ankle.
-brown belt around my waist to sinch it in and give the top some shape since it is made kind of boxy. -Forever 21.
-Several stacked bracelets from various places. Brown beaded, pearl, and other bracelets.
-Mustard colored open toe flats from JCPenney, that I wear alllll the time. They played up the yellow flower detail in my shirt.
-Purse was from Rue 21 in a faux patent leather material with ruffling at the top, matched the belt I was wearing.

I'm SO indecisive about my hair! :x

Hey, so I thought I'd blog this, I might even make a video...I'm not quite sure yet. lol

But if you haven't noticed already (which I'm probably sure that you have) I'm so terrible indecisive about my hair. Cut and color. I go through phases about once a year where I dye the living crap out of it until I get the color I want, and snip at it a little bit until I get the cut that I am happy with. Well right now I'm happy with the cut, but I'm not happy with the color. :(

As you can see below....I changed my hair from dark red, which I liked at first then didn't, to a golden/strawberry blonde which I did like at first, but now I'm not liking it so much. I feel like it's washing me out and I can't stand it. The only color I've ever had was my bright red color (inserted here....)>>>>

And the only reason I didn't stick with it was because ONE person in my family didn't like it. I know, dumb right?

So...I took a trip to Sally's tonight and bought the bright red dye from when I dyed my hair ^that color. So I think I might get rid of the blonde and go back to bright red. Who knows at this point. I'm just all over the place. haha

Hey everyone! So this might be a long blog post.

I had just dyed my hair the dark red that I did a video on, the Revlon Colorsilk dye in Auburn Brown. Check out my youtube channel for that video. http://youtube.com/glitterinmyveins7 I will also post pictures for reference below of before and after.

Anyway, I loved the dark red when I first dyed it but then I washed it and it faded to a different auburn and I didn't like it at all. So I wanted to go lighter, I wanted a medium golden/ashy blonde, which is what I ended up with.

So here are the products I used and the process that I went through to achieve my hair color. It was a long process, and can be damaging depending on your hairs condition before coloring, as well as how your hair holds up. I'm not a professional, but this is just what I did on MY hair because I know how my hair works, and how the dye works on my hair. I recommend going to a professional if you don't know exactly how your hair will turn out.

1. Clairol Born Blonde Maxi (for dark blonde to black hair). I used this first to lighten the dark red. I put it all over and left it on for about 50-60 minutes, then washed it out. This left me with an orange color. 

2. Revlon Colorsilk- 70 Medium Ash Blonde. I used this all over to tone down the orange, and I ended up with an ashy red color, but I wanted it lighter so I continued on to step 3.

3. Loreal Feria Extra Bleach Blonde Intense 1-step Lightening System (205 Extra Bleach Blonde). I mixed this up in a plastic bowl and with a tint brush, free-handed highlights all throughout my hair, this is so I would have different tones all throughout. This ended up leaving me with a light orange color. 

4. Loreal Superior Preference- 8A Ashe Blonde (cooler). I used this all over to tone down any remaining orange and it left me with my final color, a medium ashy golden blonde.
