Long awaited post!

Oh my goodness! I have so much to update on! yikes! I just keep forgetting to sign into my blog and keep it update. With school, family and friends, wedding planning, my youtube channel which is branching off into a vlog channel as well, I just get so lost!

BUT, I am back with some exciting news that I think you will like! I dyed my hair...AGAIN! haha

It is now a medium brown shade! I used Clariol Perfect 10 Haircolor in Medium Ash Blonde (swift chocolate) and I am loving it :)

 I also got a new HD camera so all my pictures and videos on my channel will be in MUCH better quality! So make sure you follow my channel as well! I also got a twitter if you'd like to follow me on there: @heyitssamyrae

But that's all for now! I'm waiting for some things to arrive in the mail so I should be doing some giant makeup hauls on my channel very very soon! I'll try and do swatches of all the products, both NYX and ELF! eek! So excited. There are some new products that I am dying to try out! Anyway, I will try and stay posted, and here is my new hair!

Okay so I lied...but here's FINALLY, an OOTD! Floral Flowy Fall Top!

I lied about updating my blog more than my Youtube channel but I guess I misjudged my priorities. lol I figured it would be easier for me to make blog posts, but really, my blog posts are made off of my videos, so in all reality I'm more likely to post a video before doing a blog post.

But ANYWAY! I'm back with an outfit of the day for the beginning of fall. :) I have posted a few others so far on my channel so go check those out! http://www.youtube.com/glitterinmyveins7

This outfit is very casual yet cute and sophisticated, great for the beginning of fall when you're not sure if it's going to be warm or chilly!


What I wore:
-Flowy 3 quarter sleeve silk floral top, off the shoulder. -Walmart
-A pair of skinny jeans with a dark wash with brown undertones to match my accessories. Cuffed at the ankle.
-brown belt around my waist to sinch it in and give the top some shape since it is made kind of boxy. -Forever 21.
-Several stacked bracelets from various places. Brown beaded, pearl, and other bracelets.
-Mustard colored open toe flats from JCPenney, that I wear alllll the time. They played up the yellow flower detail in my shirt.
-Purse was from Rue 21 in a faux patent leather material with ruffling at the top, matched the belt I was wearing.

I'm SO indecisive about my hair! :x

Hey, so I thought I'd blog this, I might even make a video...I'm not quite sure yet. lol

But if you haven't noticed already (which I'm probably sure that you have) I'm so terrible indecisive about my hair. Cut and color. I go through phases about once a year where I dye the living crap out of it until I get the color I want, and snip at it a little bit until I get the cut that I am happy with. Well right now I'm happy with the cut, but I'm not happy with the color. :(

As you can see below....I changed my hair from dark red, which I liked at first then didn't, to a golden/strawberry blonde which I did like at first, but now I'm not liking it so much. I feel like it's washing me out and I can't stand it. The only color I've ever had was my bright red color (inserted here....)>>>>

And the only reason I didn't stick with it was because ONE person in my family didn't like it. I know, dumb right?

So...I took a trip to Sally's tonight and bought the bright red dye from when I dyed my hair ^that color. So I think I might get rid of the blonde and go back to bright red. Who knows at this point. I'm just all over the place. haha

Hey everyone! So this might be a long blog post.

I had just dyed my hair the dark red that I did a video on, the Revlon Colorsilk dye in Auburn Brown. Check out my youtube channel for that video. http://youtube.com/glitterinmyveins7 I will also post pictures for reference below of before and after.

Anyway, I loved the dark red when I first dyed it but then I washed it and it faded to a different auburn and I didn't like it at all. So I wanted to go lighter, I wanted a medium golden/ashy blonde, which is what I ended up with.

So here are the products I used and the process that I went through to achieve my hair color. It was a long process, and can be damaging depending on your hairs condition before coloring, as well as how your hair holds up. I'm not a professional, but this is just what I did on MY hair because I know how my hair works, and how the dye works on my hair. I recommend going to a professional if you don't know exactly how your hair will turn out.

1. Clairol Born Blonde Maxi (for dark blonde to black hair). I used this first to lighten the dark red. I put it all over and left it on for about 50-60 minutes, then washed it out. This left me with an orange color. 

2. Revlon Colorsilk- 70 Medium Ash Blonde. I used this all over to tone down the orange, and I ended up with an ashy red color, but I wanted it lighter so I continued on to step 3.

3. Loreal Feria Extra Bleach Blonde Intense 1-step Lightening System (205 Extra Bleach Blonde). I mixed this up in a plastic bowl and with a tint brush, free-handed highlights all throughout my hair, this is so I would have different tones all throughout. This ended up leaving me with a light orange color. 

4. Loreal Superior Preference- 8A Ashe Blonde (cooler). I used this all over to tone down any remaining orange and it left me with my final color, a medium ashy golden blonde.

OOTD 8/23/11- Casual shopping outfit. :)

Hey everyone! So here is my outfit for the day.

For my hair and my makeup, I just blow dried my hair and left it curly, touched up a few pieces with my straightener. Makeup: winged liner as usual, but skipped out on mascara on the bottom lashes, just to change it up. I also wore Rimmel's Vintage Pink on my lips.

For clothes, I kept it simple yet cute, with some cute and girly accessories. I wore a purple scoop neck t-shirt with small chest pocket detail (JCPenney), some light distressed skinny jeans cuffed at the bottom with a belt (Charlotte Russe), and some super super cute flats, leopard with bows on the back, I got them at a local store. For accessories I wore some light pink heart shaped earrings (rue 21), and two stretchy pearl bracelets.

Update! 8/21/2011

Hey everyone! So....here's the deal.

I've been kind of slacking on videos and blog posts,etc. 1.) Because I'm running out of ideas and no one will give me any inspiration or send me requests so...I am having a hard time coming up with ideas. and 2.) Because I am planning my wedding as well as getting ready for school to start. I am starting my 2nd and final year of college (for now) tomorrow (the 22nd) So I am going to be extremely busy planning and super busy with school, which leaves hardly any time for anything else.

But I do promise to try my hardest to keep up with my videos and what not because that's what I love to do, so I am going to try and keep enough free time to do OOTD posts as well as reviews, etc. I think I might cut back on posting videos of makeup looks just because they don't get as many views as my other videos, but I am still going to post makeup looks to my blogs for inspirational purposes. :)

Soon I am also going to dye my hair...AGAIN...If you follow my youtube channel you will see that I just recently dyed my hair an auburn brown color and also did a review on the hair dye that I used (Revlon Colorsilk). But I already don't like the color on me. It is so hard to match makeup colors with and really washes me out, it's not quite the change that I wanted to I am going to try and change it up here in a bit since my hair is in quite good condition since I cut it, and I will make a video on it I'm sure.

But anyway, watch for new videos and PLEASE leave me requests and things because I need new ideas :) I'll try my best to make videos often, but if I disappear for a while you will know why. Love you all and stay well!! xoxo Samy

NEW HAIR CUT! =)

Hey everyone!!

So....I cut my hairrr! :) I decided that it was really time for a change, and so I decided to cut my hair into an asymmetrical bob instead of the bob that I had, I basically just took an inch and a half off of the left side of my hair, then tucked that side behind my ear. Seriously, that's all I did, but I LOVE IT!

Next, I am going to dye it, which I will do a post on, a video on which will be on my youtube channel if you want to check that out and watch for it, and I will also post pictures of course. You will have to check back to see what color I am dying it, but I am dying it soon, within the next day or so!
