Review: Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse & Dream Smoothe Mousse Foundations
(posted on April 25, 2011)
Products:
-Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse Foundation: 110 Porcelain Ivory
-Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation: light 1/ Porcelain Ivory
Reviews:
Both of these foundations aren't too bad for drugstore foundations. As with most of my foundations I prefer to use a dual fiber stippling brush rather than a normal foundation brush/sponge/etc. Both apply really well and go on very smoothly. When set with powder for me they both last about 8 hours maybe less, depending on what I do that day, how hot and humid it is, etc. They are both pretty moisturizing at least for me, so they may not be best for oily skin. I do like the formulations but the staying power again isn't the best, and the color choices aren't very good either. Since I have really pale skin, they don't match me unless I wear my self-tanner. So I only wear them when I do my tanner otherwise I wear something a bit lighter. Other than that I think that they are great drugstore foundations and they can work if you have the right tools, skin type, etc. :)

My Top Concealers + primers = Reviews
(posted on April 19, 2011)
So here are my top concealers and the reviews I have made of them!
-NYX Concealer in a jar: CJ03
-Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer: fair/light 0-1
-Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealer: 3
-Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Concealer: Ivoire
-NYX Eyeshadow Base: ESB01(white)
-Urban Decay Primer Potion
-elf Eyelid Primer
Favorite to least favorite....
My favorite concealer out of all of the one's I listed would have to be the Lancome Effacernes Waterproof concealer. The reason this one is my favorite is because it covers very well; provides medium to full build-able coverage, it matches my skin the best, and it doesn't come off at all. So if you are very pale skinned like I am this one is a good choice color wise. If you are looking for less coverage, then it might not be the best because it is a bit thicker, but very blendable at the same time. This one is more expensive, I paid $29.50 for it.
My next favorite because of the wear would have to be the Make Up Forever Full Cover concealer. This one does not come off at all and I have to do no touch ups throughout the day. The only down side is the color selection. I ordered offline and bought the #3 because it looked more yellow toned compared to the lighter shades of ivory which were more pink. I can't wear pink toned concealers because my skin has a yellow undertone. Another down side is that it is expensive, I paid I believe around $35 or so. This is good if you want a medium-full build-able coverage, but it is harder to blend than the Lancome one.
The other concealers I do like for cheaper drugstore brands, but I most likely won't be re-purchasing them just because I love the Lancome one and it will last me forever. The Maybelline Dream Mousse concealer provides great coverage and is affordable. I however don't like the staying power of this and feel that it slides off my face after about 3 hours. The same with the NYX concealer in a jar...it slides off my face but does have good pigment and coverage. The color selection of both is pretty good, but I would say that it is still harder for me to find a shade to match my skin.
Eye Primers:
The Urban Decay Primer Potion is by far my favorite, I have had the same tube for over a year and have only maybe used half of it so it does last a long time, which is good since it runs about $18 on Sephora's website. The elf Eyelid Primer I also really like but I bought one, loved it, purchased a back up of the same kind and it was completely different. The second one I purchased was runny and didn't stay on my lids, but the first was a perfect dupe for the Urban Decay primer potion, so if you do purchase the elf one, be cautious and know that their cosmetics tend to differ from time to time. I also love the NYX white eyeshadow base. When worn over a primer it holds up really well and provides a nice base for bright eyeshadows...however if I wear it alone it does crease so I try and avoid that.
But those were my reviews and I hope you enjoyed!

Welcome to my Beauty blog!!!!
So,
As some of you may know, or may not know...I started a beauty channel on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/glitterinmyveins7. Since I started my channel I thought it would be appropriate to make a beauty blog for my subscribers and viewers to follow along with! I will be posting makeup tutorial add-ons, swatches of different products, tips and tricks, some fashion advice, outfit of the day's, and so on. I hope that I can become successful in editing this blog to fit my personality to the fullest but I suck at figuring new things out. :P Anyway, I'll start posting soon and I hope you all enjoy!!!
Also...I am going to go ahead and post the things that I have already done on my youtube channel. So the date will be wrong on my first couple of posts, but I will include the date of when I posted it to my youtube channel. Just letting you know (:
